Musical Frontiersmen

 


An imaginative look at emigration through folk song lyrics and story telling. The course explores cultural links between America and Ireland and considers why so many people travelled to the New World in the 1700s and 1800s.

The musical theatre show was written by Colin Magee toured Arts Centres and colleges in 1993 & 1994. We also toured in America with the show performing songs from 18th century Ireland and highlighting the Scots-Irish link to American songwriters' STEPHEN FOSTER & DANIEL EMMETT'
