Song Traditions in the Ards

The Event
In every town and village on the Ards Peninsula in County Down you'll find performers who sing songs about local places and local people. Many singers like the old songs written in the traditional way while others are telling their stories in a more contemporary form.

Our event 'SONG TRADITIONS in the ARDS' brought together several songwriters who are influenced by different styles and different performers, but all of the songwriters had something in common - they are affected by the landscape and the people who live around them. The concert is part of a series of cultural events aimed at celebrating diversity in the Ards and is funded by the EU Peace 2 Programme through Ards Local Strategy Partnership.
