Palm Beach Florida
'ONE WORLD' event
Over a five year
period, Panarts worked in partnership with Community Relations at
Ards Borough Council to organise the annual 'ONE WORLD' event. We
linked people from the two main traditions with minority ethnic
groups living in the Ards Peninsula area. Through music, song and
dance we brought groups together to explore different cultural
influences and we encouraged local people to find out more about
each others' lives. Each year we organised debates on important
issues to do with life-syles, values and beliefs. Up to two
hundred people came to discuss:
CAN DIFFERENT FAITHS CO-EXIST IN NORTHERN IRELAND?
We also talked about an important annual tradition linked to the
Christian faith:
WHO OWNS ST PATRICK? brought the main churches together to
encourage people to have respect for different opinions and
different ways to celebrate this important annual event.
